Insights into a Fraudster’s Mindset.

Check out this brilliant video from social media network, Joe, who sat down with Tony Sales. Tony’s current role is as a Social Engineering Expert with company, We Fight Fraud, but in his younger years he held the title of Britain’s most notorious fraudster, stealing £30million from hacked personal information.

I thought it was super interesting to hear how Tony moved from petty crime through to fraud and used social engineering techniques, like having confidence in your convictions, to get past people’s defences and successfully defraud organisations.

It’s important that we share this information with others to help them feel more confident about speaking up when something doesn’t look right, and not allowing fraudsters to leverage our general embarrassment at misconstruing a social situation so they can carry on with their illegal activities.
